Top searchers

Dunwoody’s own cameras were searched 3.2 million times by nearly 3,800 agencies. Dunwoody PD itself accounted for just 4,453 searches (0.14%). The top ten:

Organization Searches
Houston TX PD 155,782
Dallas TX PD 122,152
California Highway Patrol 116,197
Gwinnett County GA PD 64,919
Louisville Metro KY PD 33,076

Texas law enforcement alone — Houston and Dallas PDs — accounted for roughly 278,000 searches (8.5% of the total).

Convoy searches

6,705 searches used the convoy type, which finds groups of vehicles traveling together across Flock camera networks. Houston TX PD dominated convoy usage with 2,427 searches (36%), followed by Atlanta GA PD (551) and Gwinnett County GA PD (347).

Freeform searches

1,900 searches used Flock’s AI-powered freeform feature, where users describe a vehicle in natural language instead of entering a plate number. Examples from the data:

  • “white volkswagon jetta”
  • “grey lexus sedan, no tag, passenger side damage”
  • “newer model is3 darker silver/grey lexus sedan with gold or light colored wheels or rims”
  • “dark gray or black sedan with gold or bronze rims”

All freeform queries were prefixed with objectClass:vehicle. No person-description searches appeared in this batch.

No reasons

Dunwoody’s network audit continues to provide no search reasons — searches of Dunwoody’s cameras remain unauditable by reason.

No organization audit

This release contains only network audit data. The organization audit — which logs Dunwoody PD’s own searches and includes officer names, search reasons (if logged), and case numbers — was not included.
